A very small man came up to me in his wheelchair and began talking to me about his handicap, steak dinners, and how his mom would boss around the secret service. Later, a female security guard with lazy eye told me how she wanted to go to junior college for photography because she didn’t want to have this job all her life. We talked about how sad it is that kids have to drink the water thats making them sick to keep them alive, and then began complaining about her throat is hurting, which we agreed was a first world problem. Joy is found in the strangest places. In the stories of the crippled, and the eyes of those with horrible vision. Such beauty can be encountered in the four minutes it takes for your train to make its way to your stop, and then you realize, the journey is so much more important than the destination.
