The Assyrians, also known as the people of Nineveh (remembered as “the bloody city”) were not beyond redemption in God’s eyes, and they could arguable have done more damage to humanity than Hilter or Saddam Hussein combined (Nahum [chapter 3] described “death everywhere; countless corpses in every direction”); And yet God redeemed them when they repented. We MUST seek to become merciful to even the most depraved people, and offer redemption upon repentance, by leading them IN THE WAY of repentance. The cycle of violence MUST END with the people of God leading the charge, whilst showing ALL unsurpassable worth and unconditional love. The time is now.
